What Are Unlimited Products?

Tapper supports two product types: Track Stock and Unlimited.

Track Stock products are physical items with inventory — drinks, snacks, anything you restock. Their quantity goes down with every purchase and you can run inventory counts against them.

Unlimited products have no stock at all. They are sold without inventory limits and never appear as out of stock in the kiosk. Use them for anything you charge for but do not physically count:

• Machine or equipment use
• Room or space rental
• Event tickets or access fees
• Consulting hours or service sessions

Setting Up an Unlimited Product

When creating a product, select Unlimited as the product type. This setting cannot be changed after creation.

Two additional fields become available:

Unit Label — an optional short label that describes what one unit represents (e.g. hours, min, sessions). If set, the label appears next to the product name in the kiosk and in transaction history. Leave blank for a flat one-off charge with no unit shown.

Purchase Mode — controls how the kiosk handles the purchase:

• Single tap — one charge is booked immediately when the product is tapped. Use this for flat-price items.
• Quantity input — the kiosk prompts the buyer to enter a quantity before confirming. Use this when the amount varies per use (e.g. number of hours, number of sessions).

How Unlimited Products Appear

Unlimited products are shown in the kiosk alongside regular products. A small ∞ badge on the product tile distinguishes them from stocked products.

In the products list, the stock column shows — for Unlimited products. The Update Stock action is not available for them.

Unlimited products are excluded from:

• Stock overview and stock level warnings
• Inventory count flows
• Restock suggestions

They are included in all transaction history, bookkeeping summaries, and revenue reports just like any other product.

When to Use Each Type

If you are unsure, use Track Stock. You can always add a separate Unlimited product for services alongside your stocked items.
